e

.

.

WHEREAS, the approximate floodplain information in said report with included maps for
stream reaches in Arapahoe County as listed in Table 2 was the best regulatory floodplain
information at the time of the study but did not necessarily meet the Board's "Rules and
Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff
Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1) during the time in which said report was effective; and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board produced a report entitled.
"Guidelines for Determining lOO-year Flood Flows for Approximate Floodplains in Colorado"
(Guidelines) that provides basic hydrology information for certain streams within Arapahoe
County and other portions of the state; and

WHEREAS, the availability of the hydrology Guidelines, as they apply to certain
approximate floodplain reaches in Arapahoe County, now provide a means for those certain
floodplain reaches to meet the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of
Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); and

WHEREAS, the approximate and detailed floodplain information contained in said report
with included maps has been superseded by more current Flood Insurance Studies or floodplain
information reports that have not yet been designated by the Colorado Water Conservation Board,
and therefore this resolution will be rescinded once those newer reports are reviewed and
designated as appropriate at a future Board meeting.

DESIGNATION AND APPROVAL ACTION
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in
regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this 22nd day of November 1999, that it does
hereby designate and approve as approximate floodplain information the storm or floodwater runoff
channels and basins, as listed in Table 2 and as described by approximate floodplain information in
said Arapahoe County Flood Insurance Study dated August 1977 that meet the criteria set forth in
the CWCB's Guidelines for Determining JOO-year Flood Flows for Approximate Floodplains in
Colorado and therefore meet the requirements of the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the
Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in
Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board that it does
hereby designate and approve as detailed information the storm or floodwater runoff channels and
basins within Arapahoe County as listed in Table 3 described by 100-year floodplain delineations
in said report dated August 1977 with included maps; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is directed to send a
certified copy of this resolution to the Arapahoe County Government; the Colorado Office of
Emergency Management; and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

5
