Wetland enhancement ' There appears to be an opportunity to include wetland
enhancement into the existing Reclamation Plan. Manmade wetland areas could reduce
the magnitude or need of any required interior stormwater drainage system.

. Detention structure - The topography of the Flatiron Property and downstream floodplain
lands afford the opportunity for on,site detention to reduce downstream
flood hazards and flood flows.

. Flood awareness programs, Nonstructural mitigation opportunities exist to reduce flood
risks and losses. These measures include warning systems, flood insurance,
floodproofing, relocation, etc.

. Master Drainage Development Plan ' The 1973 South Boulder Creek Basin and
Floodplain Master Plan is outdated and a new plan should be considered by the local
jurisdictions. The subject site can be included in the formulation of acceptable flood
mitigation measures for the stream.

CONCLUSIONS

On or before October 16, 1996, we will provide the University of Colorado at Boulder
with our conclusions and any recommendations under a separate cover.
