I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

~~2ch A (Powers Park To Littleton City Limits)
Provide e!:',bankment improvements at Powers Park detention to insure it ~lOuld
not breach if overtopped. The improvements should not reduce existing
storage. If possible, storage should be maximized.
2. Provide a 5-year storm sewer.
3. Investigate the possibility of lowering S. Delaware Street centerline crown
between W. Powers Avenue and W. Powers Place to provide a more efficient
overflow for floods larger than 5-year reocurrence frequency.
Reach B (Littleton City Limits To Grant Street)
1. Recommend status quo be maintained until land is redeveloped.
2. Recommend that redevelopment of land be in accordance with the IOO-year
flood plain regulations, namely no structures in the floodway. Structures
outside floodway are to be elevated above the 100-year floodplain or an
adequate channel be built to convey the 100-year flows. Any improvements
are to be designed as not to increase flowing to adjacent, upstream and
downstream properties.
3. A 5-year capacity low flow channel needs to be provided when the Reach C
improvements are to be constructed.
Reach C(Grant Street to Caley Avenue)
1. Provide a 5-year storm sewer along the alignment marked in orange on the
attached Exhibit map dated October 1982.
2. Provide for a local interceptor to Clarkson Street to connect a poorly
drained area to the major drainageway. (Please advise District of required
changes to base drawing mylars.)
Reach D (Caley Avenue to Denver Highline Canal)
1. Provide for a 100-year detention facility with an outlet to limit flows so
the proposed storm sewer capacity for Reach C is not exceeded.

2. Provide for the sid~ channel spillway on Highline Canal as recom~ended in

the Highline Canal Master Plan, Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers,

Inc., Denver, Colorado 1975.

3. Caution that the detention facility needs to be constructed before the

Highline Canal spillway is constructed.

Reach E (Denver Highline Canal to Euclid Avenue)

1. Provide 5-year storm sewer.

2. Recommend that the storm sewers recommended in the Broadway Estates

Subdivision Drainage Study, 1977 be implemented upstream of Reach E to

relieve existing drainage problems along Arapahoe Road.
