<br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information within the corporate limits of the City of '_ <br />Lafayette was not designated and approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in Resolution ., <br />No. 337; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Area Delineation, Bullhead <br />Gulch and Tributaries" dated July 1991 has been prepared by Advanced Sciences, Inc.uIider contract <br />to the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report includes detailed floodplain information for Bullhead Gulch and <br />Tributaries within the corporate boundaries of the City of Lafayette; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the City of Lafayette, <br />Colorado, Boulder County and the UD&FCD, by Resolution No. 317, adopted on November 14, 1991, <br />designated and approved the floodplains described in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City of Lafayette, <br />Colorado" dated September 1979 has been prepared by Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff, Inc. <br />under contract to the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report includes detailed floodplain information for those portions of Coal Creek <br />and Rock Creek within the corporate limits of the City of Lafayette, as they were in September 1979; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information in said report dated September 1979 is consistent <br />with the detailed floodplain information in the report previously designated by Resolution No, 66; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lafayette, Colorado, has requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to designate and approve the floodplains set forth in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31,23-301 and 30,28,111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the information in the report dated September 1979 meets all of the requirements <br />for detailed information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the Designation and <br />Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); e <br /> <br />2 <br />
