Purpose and Scope The Board's power and duty is. The purpose of this report is to provide the City of Gunnison and Gunnison County officials with a tool for planning purposes and to regulate the land use of areas within the floodplain of Gunnison River and TomichiCreek in order tominimtze flood danmges and dangers tob oth the property and human life. The report contains information nn histor- ical floods in the study reach, existing basin and channel parameters influencing the flood hazard, and information related to the 10-, 50-, lOO-and 50o-yearfrequcncy floods.
