The following summarizes the field review. Selected
photographs have also been included.

Meeting with the Town
. A meeting was held with Tom Hale, Granby Town Manager, Ed Raffety, Mayor, and Ted
Wang, Mayor Pro-Tem. The meeting took place between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm at the
Town Hall offices in Granby. An agenda, existing FHBM and 11 "xl?" copy of the draft
floodplain map were presented to all attendees.

. Tom Browning made introductions, explained the purpose of the meeting, reviewed
legislation supporting the designation process and described the designation process.

. The Town bas recently adopted Drainage and Erosion Control standards for developments
over I acre.

. Although the north drainage area is out of the Town Limits, we should leave it on the map
for their planning purposes.

. There was a significant rainfall event on July 19, 2000. Jerry Gibbens indicated that the
March 2001 ICON Engineering report entitled "General Drainage Report for Granby High
School and Middle School Campus" indicated that the rainfall was 3.5 inches in one hour,
which is significantly greater than the 100-year event.

. The Town indicated several areas where they have had flooding problems during the 200
event, as well as other minor events. These were marked on the map, and include:

((f))

10110

granby_fieldrpt.doc
March 20, 2002
