Scaling variables "XAUPI" and "YAlJPI" indicate values of virtual
data units per division. For profile plots, entering "XAUPI" causes
the program to take the study reach and divide it into as many plots
as are needed to display the profile of the entire study reach in
that scale. If "VAUPI" is specified, "XAUPI" must also be specified
causing each plot to be scaled to the iridi cated "unitt -per-di vision"
scale, or in the default case, "units-per-inch". Any portion of the
profile can be plotted on a user defined scale by entering:

(a) "SCALE" followed by one card (or record or line of
input) on which val ues must be entered for XMIN,
XPI, XMAX, VMIN, VPI, VMAX. Each line of input
results in a new graph or window. Any combination
of scale variables can be specified.

(b) "NSC" followed by anyone or more of the commands

"XMIN", .XPI", "XMAX", "VMIN", .VPI", "VMAX".

.

(c) Entering in "FORMATTED" user input mode, "SC" cards.

Data output from HEC-2 is ei ther in feet or in meters. I f the
user wishes either the "X" data units (cumulative river distance) or
the "Y" data units to be converted to some other units. he/she must
enter values for variables "XUNIT" and/or "VUNIT". Alpha options
recognized by these variables are "FT", "MI", "M", and "KM". If
the program does not find one of these options, then it assumes
that a numeric denominator has been entered. It determines the

,

30

..
