III. User Options and Format:
The package contains three modes of user specified optional input: (1) user
free formatted input (or "USER"), (2) automatic user interrogation input (or "AUTO"),
and (3) formatted in fixed field input (or "FORM"). The default mode is "USER".
Only one card or one line of input is required. This one entry tells tbe program
to stop plotting. The required entry is "FINISH" (or "FINI"). It is free-
formatted and can be entered anywhere on the card or line of input.

,

;

The available user defined options allow him to specify the size of the plot,
scaling, graph lables, plot grid, symbol and line types, lettering sizes, variables
to plot, print out, trace options, and plot destination. Many options apply to
both the XSECPl and the PROFPl modules whereas others are specific to the module.
Those opttons commonly applicable will be discussed first followed by those
specific to a given modul~.
A. Common Options for both Modules.
Below are listed options that are coll1lloll to b-oth the cross section
and profile plotting modules.

1. Chang4ng Modes.
Several subset modes can be specified. For purposes of
reliablility, it is suggested that the first entry, or card.
indicate which software is being used. Options are either
"GCS" or "CAlCOMP". Some systems require the user to specify the
current operational environment, either: "INTERACTIVE" or
"BATCH". Finally, after these two items are entered, the user
may indicate alternative input modes such as: "USER" (the
default), "AUTO", or "FORM". "USER" input format consists of
free-formatted input in two parts. The first part is the

,

10
