Floods of Julv 23. 1925. - The floods of July 23, 1925, a e notable only in that they followed immediately after a flood of considerable magnitude. Three peaks were recorded at each of th three stations in the lower river as follows; Huerfano, 1,900 cubi feet per second, 7,000 cubic feet per secopd, and 5,700 cubic feet er second; Ellis Dam (estimated) 2,060 cubic feet per second, 1,300 cu ic feet per second, and 4,100 cubic feet per second; and mouth, 3,120 cubic feet per second, 3,0~6 cubic feet per second, and 9,~90 cubic feet per second, in the order eiven. 27. Flood of Julv 27. 1934. ~ The gre~test flood of the perio of record at the gaging station at t~nzanares Crossing occurred on Jul 27, 1934, with a crest discharge of 1,500 cubic feet per second. No i orma- tion of a flood ~n this date below Manzanares Crossing could be obt i~ed. 28. Flood of Julv 27-28. 1936. - On these dates flood stages ere noted over the major portion of the river, b~ing the greatest known in some sections of the lower valley but of lesser magnitude in the up er valley. The crest at Manzanares Crossicg was 488 cubic feet per se and, and at Badito, 5,000' cubic feet per second, the latter figure being com- puted by the U. S. Geological Survey in 1939 from high water marks 'ed to the present gage qatum. At the site of the present Undercliffe ge the discharge computed by the U.S.G.S. from bIgh water marks above t e diversion dam of the Huerfano Valley ditch was 26,600 cubic feet per second and at the mouth no data are available except a statement fro the Pueblo Star-Journal of July 28, to the effect that the Huerfano t the mouth had a discharge of 5,000 cubio feet per second.
