<br />If, at a later date, new construction does take place in the SFHA, and if <br />Federal or federally related financial assistance is to be~'obtained for such <br />construction, then in accordance with Sectlon 102 of the Flood Disaster Protection <br />Act of 1973, flood insurance will be required in the amount of Federal financial <br />assistance or the maximum amount required lmder the pro9fam, whichever is <br />less. The enclosed table shows how the maximum amount of coverage under the <br />Emergency Program (One Layer, Subsidized Coverage) is Increased under the <br />Regular Program (Two Layers, Total Coverage,). <br /> <br />For structures built on or after the effective date of the FIRM, both layers <br />of insurance coverage are available only at actuarial rates. For structures <br />in existence in the SFHA before the effective date of the FIRM, the first <br />layer of insurance coverage would be available at the subsidized rates or <br />actuarial rates (whichever will produce t~e lower. premium) and the second <br />layer of coverage would be available at the actuarial ,rates established for <br />the community. ) <br /> <br />~le decision not to study your community 1s based on information available <br />to us at this time. If additional technic8.l information becomes available <br />that shows the SFHA for your community to be more extensive, we will issue <br />a revised map identifying those areas and c~nsider conducting a flood insurance <br />study and establishing base flood elevations for the SFaA.
