Existing Utilities - Available information on existing <br />san~tary sewers, storm sewers, water lines, gas lines <br />and telephone conduits are represented on the master <br />plan sheet. Inaccuracies and inadequacies in the avail- <br />able information are inevitable. <br /> <br />Field surveys to verify utility locations and elevations <br />must be completed prior to final design of any portion <br />of the project. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Natural Channels - In areas where natural channels are <br />to be reta~ned and right-of-way permits accessed, minor <br />improvements should be made to stabilize low flow channel <br />erosion problems. Also, areas of high velocities during <br />extreme flood flows should be structurally controlled. <br />In all cases, the natural channel should be adequate <br />for conveying the 100 year runoff. . <br /> <br />Irrigation Ditches - All major irrigation ditches should <br />be separated from the drainageway. Adequate ditch spill <br />points should be provided at the drainageway crossing. <br />Such spill structures should not interfere or damage <br />flood conveyance systems. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Conduit Inlets - The design of improved sewer inlets <br />must be a cording to accepted standards. Special problems <br />must be recognized and resolved for each inlet. All <br />design should be based on the criteria in the storm <br />sewers and major drainage sections of the Urban Storm <br />Drainage Criteria Manual. <br /> <br />Local Storm Draina!e - The master plan does not deal <br />d~rect1y w~th the oca1 storm drainage problems. With <br />the knowledge of this master plan, local drainage <br />problems can now be resolved in a manner consistent <br />with the proposed plan. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />B. MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS <br /> <br />A primary concern to any urban drainage system is the prov~s~on <br />for a continuous maintenance program.
