DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The expanded plan of the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation to provide <br />for optimum recreation c.evelopment P.t the Mount Carbon site would <br />require the acquisition of 75~ ac"eG of land specifically for recrea- <br />tion purposes, the purchase of 3,900 acre-feet of ..ater for initial <br />filling of the recreation pools, and construction of recreation facili- <br />ties estimated to cost $1,269,000. The incremental cost of the <br />optimum recreation plan is $2,817,000. Tnus, the estimated first <br />cost of the multiple-purpose project would increase from $29,800,000 <br />in the recommended plan, to $32,617,000. Tlle revised recreation plan <br />is consistent ..ith state and regional plans for recreation development. <br /> <br />7. CONCllJSIONS <br /> <br />The increased annue.l econ0n~c costs of $229,900 reflected in the <br />optimum recreation plan ..ould yield additional benefits to recreation <br />of $642,000 annually.
