<br />. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statues <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designa.te <br />an d approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and <br />to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />10 cal jur isdict ions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed the flood <br />in surance study and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water <br />Co nservat ion Board that the Board rescind all previous floodplain <br />in formation for Lightner Creek and Junction Creek in Resolution <br />Number 34, adopted December 4, 1974; and Resoiution Number 103, <br />adopted May 12, 1978; and designate and approve as floodplain <br />ar ea those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate <br />regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations <br />and profiles in the said report for Lightner Creek, Junction <br />Creek, and the Los 'Pinos River and designate and approve as storm <br />or floodwater runoff channels or basins those areas as del ineated <br />by Zone A in said report. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT R(SOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this 4th day of December, 1981, that it does hereby <br />rescind all previous floodplain informat ion for Lightner Creek <br />and Junct ion Creek in Resolutior1 Number 34, adopted December 4, <br />1974, and in Resolution Number 103, adopted May 12, 1978, and <br />does hereby designate and approv~ as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater <br />surface elevations and profiles in the Flood Insurance Study_ for <br />Lightner Creek, Junct ion Creek, and the Los Pinos River; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board does hereby designate <br />and approve as storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />those areas as del ineated' by Zone A in the Flood Insurance Study <br />contingent upon the understanding that La Plata County will <br />regulate the storm and floodwater runoff channels (Zone A) on a <br />case-by-case basis subject to a detailed hydrofogic and <br />hydraulic analysis by a professional engineer; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is <br />directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Board <br />of County Commissioners of La Plata County; the City of Durango; <br />the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District; and the <br />Federal Insurance Administration. <br /> <br />CERTIf'ICATE <br /> <br />I cert i fy that the forego ing is a true an correct copy' of a <br />resolution adopted by a majority vote of the members of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board in regular session assembled at <br />Denver, Colorado, on the 4th day of December, 1981, at which time <br />a quorum was present. <br /> <br />~. tfV~ <br /> <br />p.
