<br />FPR 98-476 <br />Town ofPlatteville <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 23, 1998 <br /> <br />RESOL UTION <br /> <br />PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED FLOODPLAIN STUDIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been no previously designated floodplain studies for Special Flood <br />Hazard Areas within the Town ofPlatteville; and <br /> <br />STUDY TO BE FORMALLY ACTED ON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Insurance <br />Administration, completed a floodplain information map entitled "Flood Hazard Boundary Map, <br />Town ofPlatteville, Colorado (Weld County)" dated January 16, 1976; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said map includes approximate floodplain delineations for specific geographic <br />areas within incorporated portions of the Platteville, as they were on January 16, 1976; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Platteville was converted to the regular program of the National <br />Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on February 29, <br />1980 by letter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) determined that there <br />were no Special Flood Hazard Areas (NSFHA) within the Town of Platteville at the time of the <br />community's conversion to the regular program of the NFIP on February 29, 1980, and this action <br />by FEMA essentially rescinded said floodplain map dated January 16, 1976; and <br /> <br />C.R.S AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />
