This did not appear to be correct because of the fact that subbasin 063
with a tributary drainage of 1.80 square miles should have been adding Its flow
between these two locations.

Inspection of the HEC-l computer output wIth no rainfall areal adjustment revealed

that the peak dIscharge rate upstream of the railroad was 4,910 cfs. However, due

to channel storage between the railroad and the confluence, the peak discharge rate

was reduced considerably. Thus, when the Inflow from area 063 was added in, the

combined peak discharge rate was 5,250 cfs. Using a flow rate of 5, 150 cfs at both

locations could be considered acceptable for water surface profile computations.

Standley Late
Standley Lake Is a reservol.r used for water supply purposes. Future Improvements
to the dam and spillway are planned. These Include raising the dam height to pro-
vide more water supply storage and improvements to the emergency splllway to
limit the 10o-year flood release to 1,043 cfs.

PrinclDal SDlllwav. The proposed method of operation for the principal spillway

Is to open the gates and release a constant flow of 430 cfs during a flood event.

Emeraencv SDlIIwav. Recent legislation by the Colorado State Legislature has

resulted In Revised Statute 37-87-104 which allows the owner of a water supply and
