The storm cut a path of destruction west
of Baton Rouge and Morgan city, and east of Lafayette about 47
miles. Personnel from Michael Baker Jr., Inc., conducted a survey
of the area to obt,lin first hand information on the type, scope,
and severity of the damage to compare these observations with
reports generated by FEMA. From these comparison's we can estimate
the recurrence inte!rval of the floods generated in Louisiana and
provide insight on what may be expected from future storms.
