<br />Yellowstone Creek <br />WHEREAS, said new mapping includes approximate floodplain information which is <br />inconsistent with the detailed floodplain information contained in Floodplain Resolution #249 <br />and contained in the Wldesignated report, dated July 1977, for the following stream reaches, as <br />listed in Table I, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein: <br /> <br />TABLE! <br /> <br />ADDroximate Information Which Is Inconsistent With <br />Previouslv PreDared Detililed Information <br /> <br />Cucharas River from the southern town limit ofU Veta (as of May 1977), upstream to a point <br />approximately 6,000 feet upstream of the La Veta town limit, as of May 1977 <br /> <br />Middle Creek from approximately 600 feet downstream of Highway 12 Gust north of the City of <br />La Veta), upstream to a point approximately 5,900 feet upstream of Highway 12 <br /> <br />Cucharas River from a point approximately 1,000' downstream of Interstate 25, upstream to a <br />point approximately 17,500' upstream oflnterstate 25 <br /> <br />Bear Creek from its confluence with the Cucharas River, upstream to a point approximately 600 <br />feet upstream of Highway 160 <br /> <br />North Walsenburg Flood Control Dam overflow channel from the western town limit of <br />Walsenburg (as of May 1977), upstream to the Ot1tlet of the North Walsenburg Flood Control <br />Dam; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Huerfano COWlty is regulating its floodplains on a case-by-case basis, and <br />is requiring that a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis be performed by a professional <br />engineer and submitted by the developer or development proponent prior to any development <br />within or near a flood prone area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hydrology information for the approximate floodplain delineations for <br />certain stream reaches included in said new mapping can been estimated in accordance with the <br />Guidelines for Determining lOO-Year Flood Flows for Approxinwte Floodplains in <br />Colorado, for the purpose of Board designation and approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a procedure for estimating hydrology information in Huerfano COWlty for <br />approximate floodplains of lakes, ponds, overflows from irrigation canals and ditches, and local <br />storm drainage areas has not been established by the Guidelines for Determining lOO-year <br />Flows for Approximate Floodplains in Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Huerfano COWlty, Colorado, has been notified of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board initiative at least 45 days prior to the Board Meeting, and the COWlty has <br /> <br />, <br />~ <br />
