Reports of flood damage in the Thompson Valley <br />go back to 1864 when settler's cabins were washed away, lowlands <br />submerged and meadows destroyed (Ref. 2). <br /> <br />Ma~ 31 - June 1, 1894 - The general storm of May 31 - June 1, <br />18 4, caused a flood which destroyed the Home Supply Company's <br />dam near the mouth of the canyon. <br /> <br />In the succeeding 112 years, twelve additional major floods <br />have occurred.
