Three residents of Golden were swept away <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />by floodwaters. Hilh water marks showed the floodwaters to <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />be 30 feet deep where they passed throulh a narrow lulch. <br /> <br />Tucker Gulch is just south of the headwaters of Van Bibber <br /> <br />." <br /> <br />Creek. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />On 2 and 3 September 1938, a leneral storm occurred <br /> <br />over the front range with localized cloudbursts producing <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />from 3 to 8.5 inches of rainfall over a period of one-half <br /> <br />.". <br /> <br />to 3 hours. Mount Vernon Creek near Morrison, Colorado had <br />a discharge of 9,230 cfs from a draina,e area of 9.45 <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />square miles. Cold Spring Gulch, which enters Bear Creek <br /> <br />about 5 miles west of Morrison, had a peak discharge of <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />9,000 cfs from a 4.5 square mile drainale area.
