SCOPE OF WORK
GORE CREEK
FLOOD PLAIN STUDY

I. GENERAL

The objective of the study would be a thorough

lhydrological analysis of the Gore Creek basin such that the

flood plain for major flood events can be defined by peak

flow and a back water profile. With the rapid rate of

growth throughout the Gore Valley, a definitive type study

that will identify the flood plain extent and clearly delin-

eate the existing problems or hazard areas will be a

valuable tool for continued land planning and zoning.

The study would establish the flood plain, maximum

water surface elevation and peak flow rates for 10, 25, 50,
and 100 year recurrence interval storms. Concomitant with
this analysis would be identification of inadequate bridge
openings and/or serious encroachment into the flood plain

area.

The format of the final report would be a two volume
document; the first being a summary type report with
figures and maps attached that would present the results,

~

delineate problem reaches, describe recommended improvements

I~
~
