Army Corps of Engineers (COE), Sacramento District <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) <br />U.S. Ceological Survey (USGS) <br />Grand Junction Daily Sentinel <br />Fruita Times <br />ARIX Engineers <br /> <br />The final community <br />1980, and attended <br />Administration, the <br />problems were raised <br /> <br />coordination meeting was held on September 2, <br />by representatives of the Federal Insurance <br />study contractor, and the community. No <br />at the meeting. <br /> <br />An initial coordination meeting for the restudy was held In the <br />Town of Fruita, Colorado, on June 9, 1988. This meeting, attended <br />by representatives of the Town of Fruita, FEMA, the CWCB, and the <br />study contractor, was held to discuss the nature and purpose of the <br />study and the scope and the limits of work. <br /> <br />The following organizations were contacted and supplied information <br />used in the preparation of the restudy: COE, Sacramento District; <br />USGS; and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). <br /> <br />The results of the study were reviewed at the final CCO meeting <br />held on August 26, 1991, and attended by representatives of the <br />Town of Fruita, the Fruita Times and FEMA. All problems raised at <br />that meeting have been addressed in this study. <br /> <br />2.0 AREA STUDIED <br /> <br />2.1 Scope of Study <br /> <br />Thi s Flood Insurance <br />Town of Frui ta. Big Salt Wash was studied <br />by detailed methods for a distance of approximately 2.8 miles. <br /> <br />The areas studied by detailed methods were selected with priority <br />given to all known flood hazards and areas of projected development <br />or proposed construction through 1995. <br /> <br />2.2 Community Description <br /> <br />The Town of Fruita is in northwestern Mesa County, <br />Colorado. Fruita lies approximately 20 miles <br />Colorado-Utah State boundary and approximately 11 <br /> <br />in west-central <br />east of the <br />miles west of <br /> <br />2 <br />
