<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, peak flood flows used for the study were derived from the most recent FEMA <br />Flood Insurance Study (1996) and were based on analyses of stream gages on Cherry Creek located <br />at Franktown and Parker; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 100-year peak flow at the downstream study limit is reported to be 51,000 <br />cfs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the hydraulic analyses were carried out using the U.S, Army Corps of <br />Engineers River Analysis System software known as HEC-RAS with resulting computed flood <br />profiles for the 10-, 50-, 100-, and 500-year events; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the delailed 100-year floodplain information for the studied reaches of Cherry <br />Creek contained in said new report meets the requirements listed under the Board's "Rules and <br />Regulations for the Designation and Approval of Floodplains and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff <br />Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the affected local governments should continue to regulate new development and <br />construction in floodplain areas on a case-by-case basis based on the information presented in said new <br />report, or based on the best available floodplain information that is accessible to the them; and <br /> <br />DESIGNATION. APPROVAL AND RESCISSION ACTION <br /> <br />. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, this 28th day of July 2003, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as detailed floodplain informalion the 100-year floodplain delineations for <br />Cherry Creek, located within Arapahoe County, Douglas County, The City of Aurora, The City of <br />Centennial, The Town of Parker and within the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, contained <br />in said new report dated May 2003; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board does hereby rescind the superseded approximate <br />and detailed 100-year floodplain information for the studied portions of Cherry Creek contained in said <br />new report dated May 2003; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Board is directed to send a certified <br />copy of this resolution to the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Arapahoe County, Douglas <br />County, The City of Aurora, The City of Centennial, The Town of Parker, and the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency Region 8. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3 <br />
