<br />;>or ,-,.. <br /> <br />.- -:!fi? <br />} <br /> <br />REVIEW ACTION BY STAFF <br /> <br />The stafffmds that the said new report does acknowledge the hydrologic and hydraulic <br />conditions that occurred during the July 30-31, 1997 flood event within the City of Sterling and <br />Logan County, Colorado. The fmdings and engineering in the new report does represent the <br />I DO-year floodplain for the subject stream reach and inundation areas for the Pawnee Creek <br />Overflow. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />COMMUNITY RESPONSE <br /> <br />The Board's staffhas been in communication with the City of Sterling. The staffs actions and <br />recommendations in its Memorandum dated November 17, 1997 for Agenda Item 5.a.i. was <br />Under Rule 9.0.2 (Board Initiative). On January 16, 1998, staff met with the City's staff and <br />reviewed its findings. The City can support the staffs findings and has no objections to Board's <br />consideration for designation and approval of the subject new floodplain report under Rule <br />9.0.2. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the floodplain information, which was designated and approved under <br />Floodplain Resolution No. 97-456, be rescinded and that the 100- year floodplain information as <br />presented in said new report dated November 23, 1997 be designated and approved by the Board. <br />This Board action will be granted by the Board's approval ofFloodplain Resolution No. 98-469. <br />The staff further fmds that the floodplain information in the November 23,1997 report is in a <br />compliance with the Board's Designation and Approval Rules as detailed 1 DO-year floodplain .. <br />information. <br /> <br />Proposed ,Motion <br /> <br />The Board, having reviewed the Board mem()randum and the accompanying attachments <br />summarizing the proposed Floodplain Resolution, now moves as follows: to approve FPR No. <br />98-469 which will rescind the previously approved and designated floodplains in FPR 97-456. <br /> <br />Motion By <br />Second By <br />For <br />Against <br /> <br />L:\bardmemljan98\item 4.a.i.doc <br /> <br />e <br />
