<br />, <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />given to the Littleton City Council at their March 3, 1998 Meeting, This packet details Mr. <br />Dufford's experience, expertise and offers a breakdown of costs for the memorial. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Let me address specifics of the project: <br />1, Fundinq: The construction cost is estimated to be $100,000, As of June 15, 1998 <br />approximately 80% of the project funding has been earmarked to the AIR LIFE <br />Memorial Fund, including donations from the City of Littleton ($20,000), HealthONE <br />Swedish Medical Center ($20,000), the public ($12,000) and a Memorial 5K Run <br />($26,000). We hope to complete funding for this project with proceeds from the 7th <br />Annual 1998 HealthONE Golf Classic, a charity golf tournament to be held July 20, <br />1998 at the Hiwan Golf Club. Past events have raised between $20,000 and <br />$45,000, <br />2, Maintenance: The annual maintenance cost has been estimated to be $5,000, <br />Funding for maintenance will come from the AIR LIFE Memorial Fund managed by <br />HealthONE, HealthONE is a Denver, Colorado not-for-profit institution founded in <br />1993 with a mission of "enhancing the quality of human life in the Rocky Mountain <br />community by supporting health-related education, research and philanthropy." I <br />have enclosed a 1996 Annual Report for HealthONE as well as a Golf Classic <br />sponsor packet for your information, Additionally the Littleton Fire Fighters, through <br />SSPRD's Adopt-a-Park Program, have agreed to provide maintenance for the <br />memorial. <br />3, Liability Insurance: The City of Littleton has agreed to provide insurance coverage <br />for the Memorial. I have enclosed a copy of this agreement from James C, Woods, <br />Deputy City Manager to David Lorenz, Executive Director SSP RD. <br />4, Ownership: Upon completion of construction the memorial will be given to South <br />Suburban Parks and Recreation District. <br />5, Other Approvals: Mr, Cary Yuan from Public Service of Colorado has been to the <br />site for review and approval as it lies within a Public Service right-of-way, We are <br />awaiting a formal letter but received verbal approval during his field visit. Bill <br />Woodcock has consulted with the golf professionals at Centennial Golf Course for <br />review and approval. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This proposal was presented to the South Suburban Park and Recreation District Board in <br />April. We expect a second review at the July 7th Board Meeting and are hopeful for it's <br />final approval at that time. <br /> <br />. <br />
