<br />Water Supply Planning and Finance Section <br />Design and Construction Status Report <br /> <br />The CWCB Water Supply Planning and Finance Section has completed 4 projects in FY 00-01. Currently <br />we have 13 projects under construction and l2 projects in the design phase. <br /> <br />The attached spreadsheet summarizes project status including budget, construction schedule, and progress <br />to date. No projects where completed during this current reporting period <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction information and <br />progress to date. <br /> <br />Proj ects Under Construction <br /> <br />l. Excelsior Irrigating Company - Excelsior Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Terms of Loan: $25l,l25 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs <br /> <br />County: Pueblo - E of Pueblo <br />Project Yield: 4,250 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $335,000 project is the re-construction of approximately 2 miles of open ditch, which has previously <br />been abandoned and farmed over. Also included in the project is the construction of several pUlllp stations for <br />water delivery. The project is located in Pueblo County lO miles east of Pueblo. Project design was prepared by <br />the Pueblo Office of the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Ralph Adkins, P.E. of Pueblo, Irrigation <br />Engineering of Alamosa and Hendrooke Sprinklers ofFt. Collins. Project construction commenced by the owner <br />and several sub-contractors in May 1998 and was originally scheduled for completion in the fall of 1999. Flooding <br />damaged the project area during the summer of 1999 that has delayed the project's completion schedule until <br />Spring of 2001. <br /> <br />2. Model Land and Reservoir Company - Model Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Infrastr. Repair Account <br />Water Source: Purgatoire River <br />Terms of Loan: $335,000 @3.75% for 30 years <br /> <br />County: Jefferson - NW of Arvada <br />Project Yield: 6,000 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In May of 1999 a flood event originating in the local basin overtopped the existing outlet conduit, <br />damaging the outlet gate tower, the dam embankment, and causing downstream property damage. The proposed <br />project to resolve the emergency situation consists of constructing a new outlet tower and conduit, repairing the <br />dam embankment, the construction of a concrete parapet wall, and the installation of water level and discharge <br />recording devices. The final design plans were completed by URS Greiner, Denver, CO, and are currently under <br />final review at the State Engineer's Office. The project was awarded to TLM Construction, from Swink, CO, who <br />commenced construction in January 2000 and have completed the work. Project substantial completion is <br />pending, until final review and approval is received by the State Engineer's Office, the loan contract is complete <br />and final payment request and project advertisement has been received from the owner. Project substantial <br />completion is anticipated in March of2001. <br /> <br />3.
