<br />o Reduce the amount of cash surplus in our funds by putting our money to work and define/implement <br />the goals set forth in our non-reimbursable project-funding program. <br /> <br />· Emphasize leveraging and funding for bigger projects to conserve limited staff resources. <br /> <br />· Define the most appropriate role for the CWCB in "state water projects." <br /> <br />o Develop a water infrastructure needs list. <br /> <br />o Amend the Litigation Account Authorization to cover expenses associated with undertaking <br />litigation and case resolution activities of basin-wide or statewide importance. <br />, ' <br />o Protect our ISF water rights. <br />· Identify where ISF's are needed. <br />· Implement a recreation in-channel strategy that allows the public to utilize our expertise. <br />· Identify where gages are needed and how to pay for them. <br />o Keep our website cUrrent and useful. <br />· Develop a fully functioning Water Resource Information Center and maintain, manage and utilize <br />data and historic infonnation. I <br /> <br />· Develop and implement a technology assets management program for all CWCB technology that <br />includes a technology replacement cycle and incorporates the CDSS. <br /> <br />· Build the user base ofDSS technology by making the DSS even more useful, far example by adding <br />flood and ISF infannation. <br /> <br />· Partner with the State Engineer, federal agencies and others to leverage resources. <br /> <br />· Provide adequate and needed training far CWC;B staff and members. <br /> <br />· Ensure adequate and productive working environments for staff. <br /> <br />· Address ESA related issues. <br /> <br />· Address interstate compact related issues. <br /> <br />. Define and utilize the autharity and influence ~f an Office of Water Conservation. <br /> <br />· Define our role in flood and drought forecasting. <br />I <br />· Develop a drought response program based on. the Drought Planning Survey. <br />I <br />· Develop and seek local utilization of unifonn ~tandards/criteria as part of a hazard mitigation and <br />flood hazard reduction strategy. <br /> <br />· Utilize the knowledge gained from recent river restoration projects and define our future role. . <br /> <br />· Identify areas needing flood maps and. undert~ke other measures to reduce catastrophic flood losses. <br /> <br />Wrap Up <br /> <br />The time we have to spend discussing this issue at the May Board meeting is limited.
