"I might mention one thing that I don't
thing was mentioned at the Gunnison meeting.
That is, that the report on 'l'later and Re-
lated Land Resources of the Colorado River
Basin in Colorado' has been completed and is
now available for distribution to the Board
members and for sale to other people who
would like a copy of it. This report is
part of our continuing inventory in cooper-
ation with the U. S. Department of Agricul-
ture on each of the river basins in Colorado.
previously the report on the Gunnison River
was completed and was 'distributed to the
Board. This is the second completion in the
series. It gives a good picture of both the
land and water resources in the main stem
of the Colorado. Work is now proceeding on
the Hhite-Yampa area."

"At this time would you want to take up
that flood control investigation on the
Platte or do you want to wait?"

"Yes. I haven't had a chance to talk
to you, Larry, about this but I have had a
feeling that there are many agencies and
interested people involved in flood control
on the South Platte. I know you have had to
go to meetings of various groups. It is my
firm opinion that the Colorado Water Con-
servation Board should be, and is, the
coordinating agency for all flood and recla-
mation projects on the South Platte. It is
our responsibility to take a firm hold and
leadership in this matter. I think we
should certainly meet, and desire to meet,
with any groups that are interested.
