MOULDER: <br /> <br />"Members of the Legislature, Mr. Chairman, <br />Board members, ladies and gentlemen, one thing <br />I'd like to do is call attention to the index <br />of Water Resources Investigations that have <br />been sponsored in part by the Geological Survey, <br />and call attention to one item that indicates <br />a number of observation wells, which are being <br />published by the Geological survey. In this <br />particular instance, the numbers shown there <br />include a number that are measured and were <br />initiated by the Colorado state university. <br /> <br />The Water Resources Division of the Geolog- <br />ical Survey, of which I am a member, cooperates <br />with the Colorado Water Conservation Board and <br />numerous other local, state and federal agencies <br />in their studies. We can't claim to be the <br />first ones who have made ground water studies <br />in the area; Colorado state has that particular <br />distinction and Mr. Code, whom I don't see here <br />today, probably is the grandfather of ground <br />water studies in this state. <br /> <br />To put things in perspective a little <br />bit, I'd like to mention that the Water Re- <br />sources Division has three categories of <br />studies that they make. One, they make studies <br />of surface water; two, they make studies of <br />ground water; and, three, the Quality of Water <br />people supplement both of these programs with <br />their quality of water studies. To date the <br />Quality of Water Branch has not been especially <br />active in the state but it looks like in the <br />very near future they will be. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />The thing I would like to do today is <br />
