schedule will require or rather, will depend
quite a bit on the cooperation we get from
the counties in getting up-to-date channel
survey data. We find that the costs are so
tremendous that the money Congress has budgeted
to Flood Plain Information studies is such that
in order to advance these studies we need the
cooperation of the counties in providing some
of the information.

We have also a small flood control project
in a design status on Skunk Creek at Boulder,
Colorado. This is a rather small, a real
flashy, stream that is located above the
Boulder Laboratories of the Bureau of standards.
We are presently considering putting in a flood
detention dam of about l50 acre-feet capacity
with a cost in the range of $400,000 to protect
the Bureau of Standards property and to protect
adjacent residential property of Boulder. We
have recently completed subsurface explorations,
drilling for subsurface explorations, and are
scheduled for completion of the design and
economic feasibility studies in July, 1963.
