MR. SLOAN:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. KNIGHTS:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. REDMOND:

will have some time for thought and we will
subsequently call the Steering Committee back
together within a month after that, we'll say,
to make a decision upon this site selection."

"That answers my question."

1

"Any other questions? Thank you very
much, Jim."

"Thank you, Ben."

"Today to report are two districts of the
Corps of Engineers and I'd like to first call
on Mr. Redmond of the Albuquerque District to
make a report. Mr. Redmond."

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, guests,
I am James L. Redmond of the Albuqerque Dis-
trict Corps of Engineers. We have offices at
Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have a portion of
Colorado included in our district. It involves
the Rio Grande Basin and the Arkansas River
Basin in Colorado. I appreciate the opportunity
to appear before the Board and to discuss
briefly the status of our work in Colorado. I
might say that at the present time we have no
projects under construction in Colorado. We
hope to have some, at least one, in the near
future. We do have a number of studies in
progress at this time. We are not making any
investigations at the present time in the Rio
Grande Basin in Colorado. We have participated
in numerous studies with the Bureau of Reclama-
tion in the past in connection with the Wagon
Wheel Gap Reservoir and some local protection
and emergency projects on the Rio Grande in
Colorado. We have no outstanding authorizations
at the present time for further study of the
Rio Grande in Colorado.

1

In connection with the Arkansas River
Basin we have no projects, as I have said, under
construction; however, we do have an authorized
project and we have been doing advance planning
on this project for the last two or three years
