<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />'7 <br /> <br />Mr. Baney first called for any additional or supplementary statements from <br />anyone who wished to present statements in support of, or in oppostion to, the Curecanti <br />unit of the proposed Colorado River Storage Project. No further statements were offered. <br /> <br />Glenn Saunders, Attorney for ~e Denver Water Board, submitted a written <br />statement, supplemented by an oral presentation in which he outlined the interests <br />and position of the City and County of Denver with respect to the Colorado River Stor- <br />age Project and Participating Projects report prepared by Region 4 of the Bureau of <br />Reclamation. Mr. Saunder!s statement was reproduced and a copy thereof was placed in <br />the hands of all members of the Colorado Water {.;onservation Board. The original <br />Saunder's statment, in the form of a,letter addressed to the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board was signed by A. P. Gumlick, Chairman of the Water Committee of the Board of <br />Water Commissions of the City and County of Denver, is on file in the office of the <br />, Colorado Wjlter Conservation Board. <br /> <br />After hearing the statements presented concerning the proposed Colorado River <br />Storage Project and Participating Projects, and various phases andUlits thereof, the <br />Board proceeded jp agree upon imd formulate the official State Comments on the report <br />of the Bureau of Reclamation, submitted by the Secretary of the Interior under Section <br />'1 of the 1944 Flood Control Act. <br /> <br />The Director annoilllced that he am his staff had prepared a preliminary draft <br />of 'official State comments. - <br /> <br />It was moved by A. E. Headlee and seconded by Teller Ammons <br />that the Board review the preliminary draft of comments and attempt <br />to revise it to conform with the views of the Board and in the <br />light of the Board's decisions after hearing the numerous written <br />and oral statements which had been presented conoerning the proposed <br />Project. <br /> <br />On vote being taken, the motion was Unanimously carried and <br />declared adopted. <br /> <br />The Director read and explained the various portions of the preliminary <br />draft of comments. <br /> <br />The meeting recessed for the noon lunch hour at l2:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Afternoon Session <br />Tuesday, Jillle 12, 1951 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Bailey,at l:)O p.m. <br /> <br />. The Board resumed consideration of official State comments and report of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation covering the proposed Colorado River Sto,-age Pro,ioct and Partici- <br />pating Projects. <br /> <br />Vice Chairman Bailey stated that the Board might be unable to resolve the <br />Curecanti question in a satisfactory manner ,and he inquired whether it was possible to <br />secure a further extension of time from the Secretary of the Interior for the submission <br />of official State comments on the Project Report. <br /> <br />J <br />
