Stone, the Director of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board since its organization in 1937, the State of Colorado <br />has a man who fulfills all of the qualifications for such work and who has <br />rendered and is now rendering invaluable service to the State of Colorado <br />in its water matters at a salary which is completely disproportionate to <br />that paid ~o those perform~g similar work for other States and for the <br />United States. . . , <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that. it most respectfully requests the Civil Service Commission of <br />the State of ' ColoradO to place the position of Director of the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board in Grade .32 of its "General Grade and Classification <br />Plan." . . <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Colorado Water Conserva.tion Board most <br />, respectfully requests the Honorable, Dan Thornton, Governor of the State of <br />Colorado, to fix the salary of the Director of the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation, Board in' Step 3 of Grade .32 which carries a salary of $9,780 a year <br />or ~8l~ a.month. <br /> <br />C. J. McCormick seconded 'the motion to adopt this resolution and on <br />vote being taken, the motion carriied unanimously and the resolution declared <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The Board instructed Ray E; Peterson, Secretary pro-tem, to forward copies of <br />the resolution to the office of Hon. Dan Thornton, Governor of the State of Colorado, <br />and to the office of the Civil Service COmllission of the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />Mr.. George A. Pughe, Craig, ann01mced that the Board of County Collllllissloners <br />of !loffat County, Colorado, had extended an invitation to too ColoradO Water Conservation <br />Board and a few other individuals to make a tour of inspection to the Echo Park dam site <br />in the Dinosaur National Monument. He said the trip would include a limited persoIUlel <br />without public announcement, to give the Board members an opportunity to see for them- <br />selves the topography of the reservoir area.
