The original authorizing legislation had I
a specific paragraph indicating that local people
would be responsible for all costs which were
not specifically flood control. We have now ,
developed a plan Whereby we can provide addi-
tional recreational features as a part of the
project. The plan is in for approval. We do not
have an answer on it at the present time. Recrea-
tiohal features would be cost shared with some
local entity.

Now in a very brief way, I think thi~ covers
our designs. Are there any questions?"

MR. BURNETT:

"You might give them the cost of the project."

MR. DOvBR:

"For the original project in 1968, the price
was a iittle over a million and a half dollars
federal and nihe hundred thousand dollars local.
This local cost included land and utility moving,
bridge work. There has been a process of es-
calation since that time. We now contemplate
our cost to run somewhat over three million
dollars for this plan, without recreational
features. "

MR. STAPLETON:

"I would now like to introduce Senator Joe
Shoemaker who dame in since I introduced the
other members of the legislature. Senator
Shoemaker, would you please stand. We are
delighted to have you with us today."

SENATOR SHOEMAKER: "Thank you-"

I

MR. STAPLETON: "First, I will ask members of the board.
Do you have any questions about the presentation
made by either Larry or Mr. Dover?

Mr. Cornelius."
