MR. SPARKS: I would add, Mr. Chairman, that I don't anticipate being
concerned with what happens 20 years from now, but I will vote for it
anyway. (Laughter)

MR. KROEGER: I don't remember the word Dave used. But I thought he
was going to say "elderly," but I guess he said something else.

MR. ROBBINS: I just said, Fred, that we all might not be available.
No implication in that.

I

MR. KROEGER: That is even worse!

We need to vote then on the original motion that we accept these
projects and the priorities as listed. Are you ready for the vote?

All in fav9r::? (Ayes.) Those opposed? (NO response.)

The motion is unanimously carried. The projects and priorities
contained in the memorandum dated October 20, 1977, are therefore
declared approved (See Appendix A).

Item No. 2 will have to be taken up at a later time, as the gentleman
that was going to report on that is not here yet. Could we' move on to
Item No.3, the consideration of the floodplain reports?

Larry. would you please do that?

MR. SPARKS: Mr. Chairman and members of the Board, this is a continu-
ing program. As the Board will recall, a statutory duty is imposed
upon the Board to approve flOOdplain information reports. All of these
reports have been prepared under criteria developed by the Board.
They have been reviewed and approved by the staff of the Board. In
each case the appropriate local people have had notice of these studies,
and the local authorities have requested the Board to approve these
floodplain information reports, as set forth here in the agenda. In
each case we have completed reports in our file. We do have a number
of copies of these reports, which we disseminate to all interested
parties.

These reports are quite voluminous. They usually take a year or two
years in preparation, and they are quite expensive. In every case.
the local authorities have contributed to the preparation of these
reports.

I don't know if anybody is here today who wishes to speak to these
reports. At this time, the staff recommends that the reports be
approved as set forth in the agenda.

I

MR. BROWNELL: I move the approval.

MR. KROEGER: John has moved the approval.

MR. JACKSON: Second.

MR. KROEGER: Mr. Jackson seconds. We have a gentleman who wishes to
comment.

-28-
