The Board provided verbal notification of the proposed
action at the May 1995 meeting. That verbal notification was followed by written notification
to the affected local governments. The affected local governments are listed below:

Vol. 1

Craig
Moffatt County

Vol. 2

Rangely
Rio Blanco County

Vol. 3

Delta
Grand Junction
Delta County
Mesa County

Vol. 4

Rifle
Parachute
DeBeque
Palisade
GrllI1d Junction
F ruita
Garfield County
Mesa County

Review Findine:s

During the staff review of the floodplain information reports for which designation
is being recommended, we found the following:

Item 4a

FPR 95-401 - Floodplain Information Report, Yampa River from Craig to
Dinosaur National Monument, Volume I

The upstream limit of study for Volume I is within the City of Craig. Existing
detailed information, previously designated, was used for the first 2.5 stream miles.
From that point downstream to Dinosaur National Monument (54.5 stream miles)
there is no existing CWCB designated floodplain information. The designation of
this report will make the new approximate floodplain information legally available
to Moffatt County. It will not conflict with the previous designation of detailed
information for Moffatt County llI1d the City of Craig.
