The Urban River Group is being chaired by Marc Waage of
Denver Water. The Urban River Group includes the Greenway Foundation, Denver
Water, Littleton, and others. The goal is to coordinate the requests of those looking to
put Chatfield Reservoir water in the South Platte River and get as many uses out of this
water as possible. I.E. Water is released for good flows through Denver can then picked
up by other water users downstream like a utility company, Central Colorado Water
Conservancy District, or others.

Workshops/Training: Tetra Tech, Inc. is pleased to conduct a three day workshop on
Mud and Debris Flows. The theme of this workshop: "Is Your Community
Prepared? "Leam about what other communities' floodplain managers are doing to
address unconfined flooding and mudflows in urban areas. What are the consequences if
we do nothing? How bad is our potential flooding? How do we prepare and implement
hazard planning? This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of the physics of mud and
debris flows and understanding the importance of hazard planning for these devastating
events Several guest speakers are planned, including Brian Hyde, a Senior Water
Resource Specialist with the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB). Mr. Hyde
serves in the Flood Protection Division of CWCB and co-authored "Technical Standards
