Besides conducting . <br />normal business, the group celebrated its 50th anniversary! <br /> <br />Colorado Water Convention: Immediately following our Board meeting on March 23, a Colorado Water <br />Convention will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Aurora. It is only the fourth time such a convention has <br />been held. The first convention was held in 1979 and sub~equent conventions were held in 1984 and 1993. <br /> <br />Several nationally known speakers and many Colorado officials have been invited and delegates to the <br />convention will debate four or five water policy resolutions. The resolutions will then be presented to state <br />policy makers. We are working with convention sponsors on resolutions. <br /> <br />For more information, you can contact the convention headquarters by calling 303-347-0017. <br /> <br />Basin Planning Fact Sheets: Our fact sheets have been revised to include 2000 census data and incorporate <br />the comments we received on previous drafts. The fact sh\)ets will never truly be finished because we intend <br />to revise them periodically to keep the information up to qate and incorporate new information as requested. <br />The revised fact sheets are now designed to reside primari'ly on our web site. This will make it easy for <br />anyone with a printer to get copies. <br /> <br />Basin Meeting Planning Reports: We have taken the draft basin planning reports prepared by Cat Shrier <br />and have formatted them into fact sheets that highlight the issues raised at each Basin Planning Meeting. <br />These fact sheets will also reside on our web site and will complement your Strategic Plan, the Basin Fact <br />Sheets, and the other information we are producing to ed*ate the public about water issues and your policy <br />and planning role. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />10 <br />
