Low Line Ditch Company - Augmentation Proiect <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $94,500 @2.75% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Logan <br />Project Yield: 6,650 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Augmentation/Diversion <br /> <br />The Low Line Ditch Company operates the Lowline Ditch for delivery of irrigation water within <br />a 2,070-acre service area. The headgate for the ditch is located in Logan County, at the Town of <br />Sterling. This project includes construction of 4 augmentation ponds and drilling one <br />augmentation well to generate augmentation credits to cover depletions for 13 irrigation wells <br />used by stockholders of the Company. Additionally the Ditch Company is rehabilitating their <br />diversion structure on the South Platte to include new gates, walk platform, and concrete <br />diversion walls. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering Services is the design engineer. The <br />diversion structure work has been completed and the augmentation efforts are scheduled for <br />completion in September of 2005. <br /> <br />2. Smart Brothers Incorporated - Well Augmentation Project <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Account County: Logan <br />Water Source: South Platte Project Yield: 1,500 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $239,850 @2.50% for 30 years Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Smart Brothers is a family owned and operated farm and custom cattle feeding <br />operation located approximately 2 miles southwest of Atwood, consisting of 1,250 acres <br />of irrigated farm ground and 5,000 head feeding operation, with plans to expand to 8,000 <br />head. The farm has 9 tributary wells and 3 commercial wells. The proposed project will <br />add a recharge well at the river, 13,OOO-ft of 18-inch PVC pipeline, and various recharge <br />ponds. 4 existing wells will be tied into the new water line to allow water to be pumped <br />back to the river. The proposed augmentation plan will offset the depletions from 12 <br />existing wells, which is currently being augmented by the Logan Well Users. The <br />project has recently been completed and is scheduled for substantial completion in <br />November of 2005. <br /> <br />3. Upper Platte & Beaver Canal Company - Well Augmentation Project <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte Basin <br />Terms of Loan: $67,500 @ 2.25% for lO-years <br /> <br />County: Morgan - Near Fort Morgan <br />Project Yield: 32,500 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Upper Platte and Beaver Canal Company operates the Canal for the benefit of their 100 <br />shareholders by providing direct flow irrigation water to an 11 ,OOO-acre service area. The <br />diversion and headgate are located on the South Platte River, about one mile northeast of <br />Fort Morgan. There are 97 junior irrigation wells under the Upper Platte and Beaver system. <br />The Company will cover the depletions of these wells by constructing two recharge ponds, <br /> <br />53 <br />
