Proposed Rule 5.C.4, Flood Elevations, requires stream
stationing and lOO-year flood contours to be shown on the
map. The UD&FCD may object to this requirement under the
belief that this is unnecessary and clutters the map. The
staff feels that most users of flood hazard information
seem to relate better to a map than the water surface
profile from which the map has been derived. Therefore,
Showing flood contours on the map facilitates the
interpretation of flood elevations at any specific site.
