<br />~~,-,-. <br /> <br />Director's Report Attachment - March 20-21, 2000, Board Meeting <br />Water Snpply Planning and Finance Section <br />Design and Constrnction Status Report <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The CWCB Water Supply Planning and Finance Section has completed 4 projects in FY 99-00. <br />Currently we have 14 projects under construction and 8 projects in the design phase. <br /> <br />The attached spreadsheet summarizes project status including budget, construction schedule, and <br />progress to date. During this current reporting period 1 project was completed. <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction <br />information and progress to date. <br /> <br />Projects Under Construction <br /> <br />Sterling Irrigation Comoanv - Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 99-173 County: Logan - SW of Sterling <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 23,563 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $318,583 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs. Project Type: Diversion Structure Rehab. <br /> <br />This $354,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Sterling Ditch #1 diversion and headgate <br />structure on the South Platte River southwest of the City of Sterling. The existing 200-ft. by 4-ft. high <br />concrete diversion wall will be replaced with 100-ft. by 4.5-ft. Obermeyer pneumatic spillway gate. The <br />new intake structure will consist of2 - 10-ft. by 5-ft. high radial gates. The Company has contracted <br />with Jack Odor, P.E. of GASP to prepare the design and construction contract documents. The <br />construction contract was awarded to Ransom Boone, of Sterling, CO. Construction commenced in <br />December of 1999 and is approximately 95% complete. The project is anticipated to be substantially <br />complete April 1, 2000. . <br /> <br />Leroux Creek Water Users Association - Carl Smith Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Infrastructure Account County: Delta - N of Hotchkiss <br />Water Source: Leroux Creek Project Yield: 750 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $1,450,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $1,600,000 project is the reconstruction of the Carl Smith Dam, located 15 miles north of <br />Hotchkiss in Delta County, which failed unexpectedly in May 1998. The Leroux Creek Water Users <br />Association contracted Smith Geotechnical Engineering Consultants of Forth Collins to analyze design <br />alternatives and complete construction plans and specifications. The selected altemative involves the <br />reconstruction of the dam failure area, widening the crest width from l2-ft. to 16-ft., additional <br />embankment along the downstream face of the dam, rip rap protection along the upstream face of the <br />dam, reconstruction of the spillway to pass the Probable Maximum Flood, a toe drain and drainage <br />blanket, and the construction of a new outlet system. Construction commenced by Zak Dirt of Longmont <br />in September of 1999 and is currently 95% complete. The remaining punch list items are on-hold over <br />the course of the winter and will be completed, weather permitting, in April 2000. <br /> <br />Wood Lake Mutual Water & Irrigation Comoanv - Wood Lake Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Weld - W of Eaton <br />Water Source: Cache la Poudre River Project Yield: 3,106 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $458,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $550,000 project is the replacement of the Wood Lake Dam outlet works including all <br />control structures, installation of a toe drain, raising the existing saddle dam, and construction of a <br /> <br />. <br />
