<br />. i'':~.e': <br /> <br />The following projects, all of which are current projects, will be included in the Multi-Objective <br />Stream Corridor Program: <br />o Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project (planning study); .- <br />o Fountain Creek GIS Project (GIS mapping); <br />o North Fork Gunnison River Study focusing on the effects of Paonia Reservoir (planning study); <br />o Alamosa River Restoration Project (construction project, including final design). <br /> <br />Colorado Water Congress Fall Workshop Schedule: The Colorado Water Congress prepares a <br />series of workshops each fall for the purpose of increasing and updating water knowledge both for the <br />actively involved water community and general public knowledge. This year's schedule includes: Water <br />Development: Past. Present & Future on September 27; Leadership Workshop for Board Members of <br />Water Conservancy & Conservation Districts on September 28; What You Should Know About the Nine <br />Interstate Compacts that Colorado is a Signatory on September 29; The Initiative Process: What You <br />Need to Know on October 11; Endangered Species on November 14; Review of Federal Environmental <br />Laws on November 15; Forest Management & Water Resources on November 16; and Legal Ethics in <br />Water & Environmental Law on November 17. Application has been made for CLE credits on most <br />workshops and credits are generally approved. For complete programs and registration forms, click on <br />the desired workshop. <br /> <br />Arkilnsas River Basin Issues <br /> <br />Pueblo Reservoir -On July 21 Reclamation issued a "Finding of No Significant Impact" <br />(FONSI) on a contract with the Pueblo Board of Water Works (PBWW) that will allow PBWW to store <br />up to 15,000 acre-feet in Pueblo Reservoir on an "if and when" basis. The FONSI also allows PBWW to <br />connect an 84" pipe from the dam outlet works to the Comanche Pump Station and a 78" pipe from therea <br />to Whitlock Water Treatment Plant. .. <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Issues <br /> <br />Colorado River Annual Operating Plan - There is still no agreed upon annual operating plan <br />(AOP) for 2001. The 2001 AOP will likely remain uncompleted until the direction on the Colorado <br />River Interim Surplus Criteria is absolutely clear. The next meeting concerning the AOP is tentatively <br />scheduled for mid-October. <br /> <br />The April-July inflow into Lake Powell was 4.35 million acre-feet or just 56% of the long-term <br />average. Water year 2000 unregulated inflow is projected to be 7.3 million acre-feet or just 62% of <br />average. The current elevation of Lake Powell is 3679 or approximately 21 million acre-feet (86% of <br />capacity). The low summer steady flow test will end September 30th. In October, releases will return to <br />the low fluctuating flow pattern averaging around 9,000 cfs and ranging from 6,500 cfs to 11,500 cfs. <br /> <br />Colorado River Decree Accounting 1999 - Staff has received the final Lower Colorado River <br />Decree Accounting for calendar year 1999. <br /> <br />Arizona consumptive use <br />California consumptive use <br />Nevada consumptive use <br />Unmeasured returns <br />Total Lower Basin consumptive use <br />Deliveries to Mexico <br />Minute 242 bypasses <br /> <br />2,728,000 acre-feet <br />5,194,400 acre-feet <br />291,100 acre-feet <br />(237,200) acre-feet <br />7,976,300 acre-feet <br />2,894,100 acre-feet <br />78,700 acre-feet <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />9 <br />
