of these meetings went out to all newspapers,
news media in the area, to all federal, state,
and local agencies, and to all the individuals
we could identify that would be affected. The
meetings at Hinkley High covered both the
Cherry Creek and the Sand and Toll Gate Creek
projects because they were all contained in
one report. We felt that this was a central
location beeause tbera are people "'aeted by II

this, and this is more or less a central loca~"
tion, and so both projects were presented at
this m~eting. The notice of the public meeting,
although it had not indicated that we were
covering Cherry Creek, within the notice there
was a description of the planned improvement
on Cherry Creek."

"Now what was the reaction at those two
meetings on Toll Gate and Sand Creek?"

"Essentially, the reaction is that there
is no opposition to the plan as such. There
is a concern on the part of the landowners
in the potential reservoir sites that because
of a lag between the planning time and con-
struction, that they are going to have to take
a monetary loss because they are not able to
do anything with their lands. This was ex-
pressed by many speakers at the meeting, that
because of this period that is required be-
tween the time a project is proposed and con-
struction that they are not able then to
dispose of their land or plan for development
and this type of thing. Most of the speakers
requested early consideration of this matter
so that this matter would be cleared up. We
did get support from Aurora and some letters
from urban drainage districts in support of
the plan."
