Purchase ofImal!inl! Hard Drive and Coutroller

Currently, the CWCB has one, 58 GB storage hard drive on the Imaging System. This
storage is currently sufficient. However, with the addition of the approximately
2,000,000 documents from the Compacts section, this space will be used up quickly. In
order to have sufficient storage for Day Forward imaging, we will need another hard
drive. With the addition of another hard drive to the System, another controller will also
be needed to run it. The estimated cost of the hard drive and controller is $10,000.

Continuation of Document Preparatiou. Indexinl! and Scanninl! (BackfiIe Scanninl!)

The agency's files and documents are currently stored in several locations around the
Denver metro area, including State Archives, WRIC, a storage unit on Evans Ave., and
also in the agency's office. Of the initial funding amount for FY 02-03, $120,000 was
budgeted for prepping and scanning 500,000 document pages. That allowance will cover
document imaging for the remainder ofthe documents for the Instream Flow Section, the
Flood Protection Section, and the Compact Section. The Compact Section alone
estimates that it has 2,000,000 document pages to image. The hnaging Committee
estimates that only Y. (500,000) of those documents can be imaged in FY 2003-2004.
The cost for imaging those documents is estimated to be $120,000.

Once the Imaging Project is completed, the agency will require a Records Specialist to
continue with day-forward imaging and to operate the Document Retrieval System. The
funding for an FTE to fill this position is not part of this year's request.

Funding is hereby requested for the Imaging Project in the amount of$150,000 to cover
anticipated expenses for this year.
