<br />Proiects Under Construction <br /> <br />. Excelsior Irrigating Company - Excelsior Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Terms of Loan: $230,000 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs <br /> <br />County: Pueblo - E of Pueblo <br />Project Yield: 4,250 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $335,000 project is the re-construction of approximately 2 miles of open ditch, which <br />has previously been abandoned and farmed over. Also included in the project is the construction of <br />several pump stations for water delivery. The project is located in Pueblo County 10 miles east of <br />Pueblo. Project design was prepared by the Pueblo Office of the Natural Resource Conservation <br />Service, Ralph Adkins, P.E. of Pueblo, Irrigation Engineering of Alamosa and Hendrooke <br />Sprinklers of Ft. Collins. Project construction commenced by the owner and several sub- <br />contractors in May 1998 with project completion scheduled for fall 1999. Flood damage occurred <br />to the project during the summer of 1999 and has delayed the project for an undetermined amount <br />of time. <br /> <br />Fort Morgan, Citv of - NCWCD Southern Pipeline Extension <br /> <br />Authorization: SB94-029, SB98-1189, Svrnce Tax <br />Water Source: Colo.-Big ThompsonlWindy Gap <br />Terms of Loan: $5,500,000 @4%for40years <br />$8,000,000 @ 4% for 30 years <br /> <br />County: WeldIMorgan- W ofFt. Morgan <br />Project Yield: 6,877 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Pipeline Construction <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This project is an extension of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District's <br />Southern Pipeline Project. The pipeline extension will provide high quality western slope water to <br />the City of Fort Morgan for their municipal use. Montgomery Watson, Inc. of Denver completed <br />the project design, from the HudsonIFt. Lupton extension at Platteville, to the Fort Morgan area, in <br />June. The construction contract was awarded to BRB Contractors, Inc. of Topeka, Kansas and <br />construction commenced September 1, 1998. Construction is ahead of schedule, approximately <br />90% complete, with project completion scheduled for late 1999. <br /> <br />Julesburg Irrigation District - Harmonv Ditch #1 Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emerg. Infrastructure Repair Account County: Logan - SW of Crook <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 40,000 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $590,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Diversion Rehabilitation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This project is the emergency rehabilitation of the Julesburg Irrigation District's Harmony <br />Ditch # I diversion structure on the South Platte River 4 miles southwest of Crook. The structure <br />was damaged by the 1997 South Platte floods and is critical to the operation of the Company's <br />Julesburg Reservoir. Zoyiopoulos & Associates of Greeley prepared the design plans and the <br />construction contract was awarded to Concrete Specialties, Inc. of Sterling in early January 1999. <br />Construction is currently 60% complete. Due to. the threat of low spring runoff, the District decided <br />to complete 50% of the diversion dam and 100% of the headgate structure, demobilize the <br />contractor, and complete the project in the fall. Construction has re-commenced with project <br />completion scheduled for November 1999. <br />
