The report found that if the currently identified projects and processes
(IPP) were developed, 80 percent of the state's water supply demands will be able to be met.

These funds would be used to develop the database to track the implementation of these IPP's. This
information will be useful to water planners at all levels and will be useful for the basin advisory groups
established during the SWSl process.

Water Planning Relationship: SWSI is the forum by which statewide water planning of existing
water supplies and future water supplies and needs can be projected and hopefully met. This database
would track those IPP's to ensure compliance to SWSI.

Recommendation: Staff gives a medium recommendation for the funding of this study because of its
importance to water planning efforts.

2.

Water Use Data Compliance

.

Beneficiary /G rantee/Contractor:
Amount of Request:

CWCB, Various
$50,000

Ranking:

High

Product Produced: In 2004, the Statewide Water Supply Initiative (SWSI) Report was delivered to
the General Assembly. One of the SWSI findings was that the lack of municipal water use data was a
major obstacle to future planning. This project would develop a list of data that should be recorded by
every municipal water provider. A proposal would be developed and presented to providers in order to
supply such data to the state for incorporation into the Decision Support System to help with future
water planning. Thus, a database would be produced to monitor water use data compliance.

Water Planning Relationship: SWSl is the forum by which statewide water planning of existing
water supplies and future water supplies and needs can be projected and hopefully met.
