<br />
<br />The Lower South Platte Water Conservancy (LSPWCD) District service area encompasses
<br />approximately 375,000 acres located in the four counties of Logan, Morgan, Washington, and
<br />Sedgwick. The LSPWCD also operates the Lower South Platte Recharge Water Activity
<br />Enterprise, which currently serves 42 customers with 62 wells. During the winter and spring of
<br />2001 new recharge ponds have been developed in the Lower South Platte River under the canals
<br />of the Julesburg Irrigation District. In addition to these new recharge facilities, the LSPWCD is
<br />working to develop existing and new wells as an augmentation replacement source. These wells
<br />are at a great distance from the South Platte River and will be pumped into the State Line Ditch of
<br />Julesburg Irrigation District to flow back to the river for immediate replacement for out-of-priority
<br />irrigation well depletions.
