Thereupon, the following resoluti,on was introduced: <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />WHEnEAs, this Board has heretofore recommended the immediate <br />oonstructi on. of what is 1m 01Illl as the Wagon 'Wheel Gap Dam on <br />the Upper Rio Grande River in the San Luis Valley, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to meet the necessities end convenience of <br />the oitizens of Mineral County, Colorado, resident in Creede and <br />in that vioinity, it will be necessary toreoonstruet the <br />highway from Wagon Wheel Gap to Creede and desirable to oonstruct <br />the same if possible on the north side of the reservoir, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Reolamation Serviee has heretofore made a tentative <br />survey for the replaoement of said highriay on the south side of said <br />lleservoir site, whioh, if adopted, would !!Sen the oonstruction of a <br />highway along the North Hill Slope Ylhere the same would be difficult <br />te maintain during the 'Winter mcnths end entail 'a highway of muoh <br />greater mileage than it is anticipated a highway along the north <br />side of the reservoir site would require, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, unless immediate steps are taken to determine the <br />feasibility of a highway along the north side of said Reservoir <br />expendi tures might be made by the State Highway COIlllIlissi on end the <br />Reolamation Service or those interested in the construotion of said <br />Reservoir on the survey along -t.he south side o~ said Reservoir, <br />which would be necessary if a feasible route cen be followed along <br />. the norlh side thereof. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board do respectfully <br />request the State Hiehway CllIIIIIlission and his Excellency Teller <br />Ammons, Governor of olorado, to utiliie their best endeavors to <br />arreDge far an innnediate survey of ell feasible routes available <br />along the north side of said Reservoir site, and that Honorable <br />Clifford H. Sto-. Attorney for this Board, be requested to <br />:immediately :bake this matter up with tbe Highway COIlIdnion in <br />order thataotion may be taken therecn, at the earlien possible <br />time." <br /> <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded the foregoing resolution was <br />adopted and declared passed by the Chairman. <br /> <br />Meeting recessed until 1:30 P.
