5. FPR 98-476: Flood Hazard Boundary Map (FHBM), dated January 16, 1976, was prepared _
by the Federal Insurance Administration for the Town ofPlatteville in Weld County. The study ..
includes approximate floodplain information for storm drainage areas in the community.

6. FPR 98-477: A Type 15 Flood Insurance Study (FIS), City of Englewood, Colorado, labeled
"Not for Public Release", dated November 1971, was prepared by the Federal Insurance
Administration for the community. The study includes detailed floodplain information for
streams in the community. That detailed information has subsequently been superceded by
more recent floodplain information (dated 1991) already designated and approved by the
CWCB.

7. FPR 98-478: A Flood Insurance Study (FIS),Arapahoe County, Colorado and Incorporated
Areas, dated April 17, 1989, was prepared by FEMA for Arapahoe County and municipalities
in the county, including the City of Englewood. The study includes detailed floodplain
information for streams in Englewood. That detailed information revised the information in the
1971 study and in a subsequent 1979 study. It was, in turn, revised by the 1991 study that has
already been designated and approved by the CWCB.

DISCUSSION
Attachments I through 7 summarize the findings of the staff review for each of the floodplain
studies for which designation has been requested.

RECOMMENDATIONS e
The floodplain information for Resolutions Nos. 98-472. 98-473 and 98-474 and 98-475 meets the
applicable requirements of the Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules". The
proposed resolutions for those 4 studies/maps have been reviewed and discussed with the interested
parties. The staff recommends that designation action be taken on the 4 studies/maps referenced
above. The first three resolutions (Resolutions Nos. 98-472 through 98-474) address Flood
Insurance Studies for the City of Westminster. Since Resolution No. 98-473 would revise
Resolution No. 98-472 and Resolution No. 98-474 would revise Resolution No. 98-473, these two
Resolutions should be adopted one at a time.

The floodplain information for Resolution No. 98-476 does not meet the applicable requirements of
the Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules". The proposed resolution for that
floodplain map has been reviewed and discussed with the community. The staff recommends that
formal acknowledgement and rescission action be taken be taken on this map.

The floodplain information for Resolutions Nos. 98-477 and 98-478 formerly met the applicable
requirements of the Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules". Due to subsequent
man-made changes to some of the floodplains and due to the preparation of more up-to-date
floodplain information, these studies are no longer compliant with those requirements. The
proposed resolutions for those 2 floodplain studies have been reviewed and discussed with the
interested parties. The staff recommends that formal acknowledgement action (at one time they

2

e
