I

I

43

"Four Mile and Turkey Creek Lake~:

"It will be noted that in the report of July 3, 1945 there
is an indication of an over~lapping between the Four Mile and
Turkey Creek, and, the Dutton Park Projeots. Further study may
determine that due to the l{mited drainage area that would supply
the water to Four Mile and Turkey Creek Lekes no water would be
available for the Dutton Park area. Therefore, we went to list
only 6.000 acres for supplemental water and 13,000 acres of new.
farming and pasture land. The proposed development requires the
enlargement of the Lakes as well as the existing ditches.

"Dutton Perk,

"This project could end would be serviced by canals and
possibly a small reservoir in the O'Neal Perk Project which is now
listed by the Bureau of Reclamation.

"Buckles _ Harris Lekes,

"This project would require new dams to increase the capacity of
the Lakes; and the enlargement of existing ditches and some new,
ditche~. This project would probably serve only pert of the land in
Coyote Park and should be considered in case the Dulce-Chama-Navajo
Project listed by the Bureau of Reclamation never materializes."

Respeotfully submitted,

The Southwestern Water
Conservation District.

By D. W. SEKTON
Secty.

Dwsl
CC E. O. Larson, Salt Lake City, Utah
John J. Hedderman, Durango, Colorado
Judge John B. O'Rourke, Durango, Colorado
Dailey W. Hott, Pagosa Springs, ColoradO
Archie B. Toner, Fort Collins, Colorado"

It was agreed that the statement of the Southwestern Water Conservation
District be made a part of the record.

Thereupon, the Director read a letter from E. O. Larson, Director,
Region 4, Bureau of Reclamation, concerning proposed developments in Southv~stern
Colorado.

It was suggested that we take up the Patterson statement and all those
present, representing various water interests over the state, be called upon to
offer any further statement they cared to 'make. This procedure was followed with
these results:
