Following a major flood event or a <br />stream use issue/concern, thll Board will consider a request for a Multi-Objective study/project. <br />The project is scoped to address multi-objective management, stream flood issues, and <br />development of mitigation measures for problems that are identified. For this fiscal year the <br />Board has received a request for a Fountain Creek GIS study. The request for the proposed study <br />was developed following the 1999 flood event. <br /> <br />CWCB - Water Education Programs <br />Authorization: FY 2001 <br />Water Source: N/A <br />Location: Statewide <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $10,000 <br />Project Type: Water Education <br />Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe <br /> <br />Work has commenced to impiement the Water Education Initiative using $115,000 approved by <br />the General Assembly in 2000. These funds would be used, if necessary, to suppiement the <br />initiative if more CD's containing lesson plans need to be produced, if funds are needed to <br />support Children's Water Festivals, or to hire a project coordinator. The initiative is designed to <br />improve public understanding of the value of water as a scarce natural resource. The Colorado <br />water Congress Education Committee has recommended that we use these funds to hire a <br />contract "education coordinator." We are expecting a scope of work in October. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CWCB - Water Information Center <br />Authorization: FY 2001 <br />Water Source: N/A <br />Location: 1580 Logan in Denver <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $30,000 <br />Project Type: Water Information <br />Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe <br /> <br />This project is . The CWCB has identified available office space next to the Colorado Water <br />Congress office at 1580 Logan in Denver. The funds would be used to make the space a Decision <br />Support System operating center and to accelerate the process of cataloguing, imaging and <br />making available for public use, via the Internet and in a walk-in center, decades of historical <br />docnments, case files, floodplain maps and other information. <br /> <br />. <br />
